Scott

as everyones said, nice renders, maybe you could play around with te reflectiveness of th glass, as it seems a bit too matte, maybe im just seeing things
-
Awesome model and fantastic render.
Is that your model?
Regarding render guru's, Biebel gets my vote.

Remus-yes i admit it is quick render and I am still learning vray so any advice would be greatfull
Scott-I wish I am guru but I am far away from it and I saw your blog with your renders-excellent man
Solo-yes I made this models and render them. This is best models I ever made and I did spend more time on them. And your page with renders are awesome also.I like the way you make models-non arhitectural

No hard feelings, but when in most cases moderators are in someway masters of what they present...Ah Solo,I know his work, seen it already.
Note that this is a forum about SketchUp mainly (and although I'd not really consider myself a "master", I get along pretty well in what I need). So about "modeling", this was a work of mine a while ago (the credits for rendering go to a certain "Pedro" though as it was a team work).
But I do really agree with Frederik - moderation and administration has very little with being the "master" of a program. It's got more with devotion to the community and being ready to help and serve.
I hope members think the team is doing a good job here...

I agree 100% on this..!!

Most definitely...!!!
I'm really impressed with you in particular, Gaieus...
You're ALWAYS extremely helpful...!! People like you are rare...!!! (Unfortunately!!) So SketchUcation can only be very pleased having you aboard their team...!!Often I wonder... Where the f... does he get the time for all what he's doing in here...?!?
P.S. Sorry for high-jacking this thread, which now seem to have been sidetracked...?!?
-
Well, guys... Infact I meant the TEAM...
And Prodigiua, don't take the above personal at all. Frederik is a mod (or admin?) at the KT Forums and is ast least as helpful as we try to be here (and a pretty good renderer by the way - as well as Jenujacob or Fletch for instance from that "gang" over there)
Back to your renders; unfortunately I haven't ever used V-Ray so in this field you'd definitely beat me. Mostly I have only played around with Podium (an early version of it) and Kerkythea (and a little bit tried to follow what's happening in Max when we were making that project).
So partly I was just curious and wanted you to tell some details by the time the others drop by and would ask the same questions...
Anyway, welcome to the forum!
P.S: James, I also have a degree in History plus in translation/interpretation...

Sorry to have to hijack this thread but I just HAVE to seize this OPPORTUNITY to compliment Gaieus on his dedication to this forum. Gaieus, I am really amazed by your dedication, helpfulness, patience and knowledge. Your demeanour is perfectly suited to that of a forum administrator, irrespective of your mastery (of which I have no doubt about) of the software that this community members use.

Same thought here but without the need for words that have to be incomplete . No offence please, Frederik.
On topic, I agree with Remus on the glass material. A little bit reflectivity as well as transparency would help so that it does not look foggy.

Guys this is a TEAM WORK here and the mods also work really hard especially with the transfer still being on our shoulders...
Anyway, looking at the images again, that transparency issue is the only one that bothers me, too. Since the lights are coming from behind the glass, too much of the reflection could not bee seen anyway

That was actually also what I meant...

I'm really impressed with you in particular, Gaieus...I'm aware that this is a team work and I also appreciate all the other Mods, but you in particular...
Hey, I really like this community... That's also why I made a small (you know... Every little counts...) donation, which I also encourage everyone else to do in order to ensure that this great community is maintained...
You're ALL doing a fantastic job here...!!
When Google decided to move from the vBulletin forum to Google Groups, you guys did a fantastic job creating this... And over the past half year, things has started to "smell" and feel like "the good old times" at the previous Google SU Forum...@unknownuser said:

None taken, Guite...
@Prodigiua... Sorry for the hi-jack once again... But I just needed to clarify things...
-
I've also made a little donation...
But in reality, my name here is just a label on the accomplishment of the whole team... We all do things together. -
ragarding the Vray work... I found it to be very well done... but I would have really liked to have seen the machines plugged in with the lights all lit up, etc... could have been very very cool.
-
That would be awesome Fletch, I took a closer look and I do not see any mesh relief, so I assume the model consists of photo textures only.
If and when I get some 'playtime' I will try model one with all physical parts and maybe one of the more learned Sketchyphysics guys could make it work.
