Here is my first posted render images, would love to hear some thoughts.

The project is a favour for a mate's Uni course, not sure what its about, i just know there is beer in it.

Good start, Toby. The model looks odd, though, IMHO, since there is a lack of context. Even the shots from within the model are too "empty". You might also want to look at changing your brick texture, as it isn't tiling very well.

      My avatar is an anachronism.

Thanks Daniel, I know it was just done very quickly. With the standard brick from SU, just like the other textures. As it always happens, he came to me on Thursday needing it for friday.

Yeah... Many things can improve these renders... πŸ˜‰
I.e. you should try using a spherical sky hdri probe...
Also adding more details - such as grass and much more plants - will help you get these images more alive...

You say that this is your first render post - but for how long have you been working with a render program..??
And also - What render program did you use..??
(look alot like KT, and if it is KT, then you can get a lot of help on these at the KT Forum... πŸ˜‰ )

          Cheers
          Kim Frederik

I've been using SU since version 1 but the KT thing is all new to me. So these images are my best so far, I get lost when using KT, as some of terms are new to me. Its like any program the more I use it the better I'll get to know it.

            Thanks for the comments.

Yeah I did thanks for that, otherwise I would have been lost. I haven't had much chance to use it yet, these renders are from the 3rd or 4th time I've used it. So I know I can do better. I'd just like to say that its an awsome program!

Hi Toby, like Frederik said; you can use some sphreical sky & ground image. Another solution though, when you exactly know that it will be just an "emty" model with no surrounding and context to be brave and use just a black sky background colour and an also black infinite plane (you can insert one from the insert menu).

I know you have very limited time now to go into the material editing part (have you also downloaded the material tutorials yet?) but the model surely needs some better ones.

                    Gai...

                      Gai,

Yep I would have loved to put it in context but there wasn't any avialable. It really annoys me when I'm not provided either with context or told where the project or given enough time to perfect the model.

Alot of the tweeking will come from using it more.

Thanks for all the comments it really helping me.
