I have a new Toshiba Intel 2 core laptop with Vista and 7600 Nvidia graphics card.
Every time I open up SU it hangs. The guys at SU said this is a known problem, it's the Vista supplied driver. I downloaded the latest driver and SU still hangs when I start it up.
Anybody have experience with how to fix this?

Hi TR, try launching SketchUp via double clicking on a .skp file. You may want to copy your favorite Template to your desktop.

That should do the trick. Open GL and Vista are not mature yet...I know...frustrating...

        Cheers,

I got a hold of Toshiba tech and they had me upgrade the BIOS and then install a recently released driver and now all is well.
          Thanks

a recent driver for their laptop? or for the videocard? just in case someone has this issue in the future.

It was an updated driver for the video card, but it also required a newer version of the BIOS for the machine
