Graphical problems after new 22' monitor
-
I've upgraded my monitor to a LG L226w (very nice btw ). Since then Sketchup6 is
reacting strange. It looks like the graphical part of the screen
(workspace) cannot overlay any menu screens and Sketchup freezes.
Sometimes after switching to the taskmanager the menu window appears.
My graphic card is a nvidia fx5700LE, it used to work fine on the
previous monitor at 1152x864 with vga connection.
Now it's running at 1680x1050 on a dvi connection.
I've allready upgraded the drivers, no luckQuestion is, is the resolution of 1680x1050 too much for the fx5700LE.
Second question, will an upgrade to, for example, a 7600gs solve the
problemedit: my god... got to learn to look out for spell errors (topic titel) 8O
UPDATE Sept 07, 2007
Problem is solved! Got a new asus 7600gs. I guess the old 5700LE couldn't handle the higher resolution in the openGL display -
It's just teasing you - sorry for not having the answer - but your "Edit" was my favoutite with the "Titel" instead of "title"
Bet you're German?!

I did live in Germany a little while, age 4-7. Maybe that's why my spelling is still a bit strange at times . (Learned to read and write in German.)
Now living in the Netherlands for over 35 yearsBack on topic.
Best bet would be to invest in a new graphics card, hoping that it will solve the problem.
Should it be a 512mb card or is 256mb enough for the resolution 1680x1050 -
Your card cannot work with the widescreen, you will need a newer card. I had to do the same. I had a FX5200 and had to buy a GF6600 GT to use my 22" widepanel. The amount of ram has nothing to do with it but more will be better. I will assume that you are one an AGP slot like my home unit has since you have a 5700 card. Yes get a newer card. This should solve the problem.

I'm still running an old ATi Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB in my PC (yes, its old and AGP) with my 22" widescreen at 1680 x 1050 - no problems. SU suffer a bit though...
