      Guys,

I am looking for a video editing program. Nothing too hardcore or too steep of a learning curve.

I am looking to do the following:
      Basic video editing
      Add transistions between clips
      Add text
Add audio and sound clips (at times overlapping)
Needs to be a windows product

I am willing spend around $600 but it needs to be fairly straight forward.

What are you guys using that you have had success with?
Any suggestions? I have downloaded Adobe Premier and Premier Elements but have not played with them yet.

      Best regards,
      Scott

          Solo,

Thanks for your reply but have you used any of these? I was looking into the sony products but what I am looking for is what people are using, How they are using it, and what are the learning curves or issues they have found so far.

Thanks again but if you can give me some more insight as to why you would pick sony I would appreciate it.

I started with pinacle studio but for a while now Im using
proshow producer. Fast learning curve and ideal for making
            fast powerfull presentations.
            Price about 250 $.

I have the Platinum edition and for what I need it works pretty well. I do walk throughts, slide shows and basic product animations. As far as a learning curve goes it's like any video editing software with drag and drop frames, transitions, effects, audio, etc.
Try the demo and see if you take to it's UI and feel comfortable.

                Scott,

Have a lppk at this thread. I haven't experimented too much so far but have been able to produce some "useful" things since the download.

If you get used to it, you can still update to the latest version for just $149. Until then it's a freeware (see TOS for limitations though... 😒 )

I have been using Premiere Elements and found the interface to be fairly easy. I used Paul Russam's technique

Thanks for everyones input. I finally purchased Proshow Producer last night but have not played with it yet. Once I get something worth showing I will try to post it if the file size is not to big. Thanks again for everyones help.
