Nice renderings! Were they all done in podium?
-
Wow, Tony, fortunately you have changed your mind!
Thank you so much for registering and sharing these excellent renders! While I do really appreciate that you "introduced yourself" in the newbie section, I take the responsibility to move this fine thread to the renders gallery (well, OK, I leave a "shadow copy" here for a while - maybe just to encourage other "lurkers" to register and share their stuff as well)

Yeah... I draw in sketchup... and then render in Podium...

Hey! Thank you Sepo... I just may have to do that!!!

Just a thought, but how about some neutral density glass in the light fixtures like the pendant and the sconces. Right now all the attention goes to the lamps which are burned out highlights.
I guess what I am saying is that the lamp should not be an emitter. It should be colored glass and have an emitter on the inside just like the real world.

Hey thanks Roger... That was my first attemp that the Omni light thing... And i tried reading the tuts about making lights... I cant quite figure it out... So now i found the pre made ones one the Podium site... So i have been using them... Im going to have to sit down and really try to figure out the lights... Thats the only thing that is frustrating about Podium... Or its just my personal lack of understanding... But thank you very much for the tips!!! I agree with you 100%

Billet, I do a fair amount of professional photography and at one time I was the communications director and photographer for Boyle Engineering and Architecture so I have a lot of experience nuancing light to get what I want. But I am just starting to climb the learning curve here in this part of the virtual world.
The match behind the physics of lighting goes way beyond the simple inverse square law. I do like to use emitters but there is a terrible price to pay in rendering time. One of my renders ran for five days. I am not sure how often I can live with that.
Fletch has been great help but he can provide the answers faster than I have been able to absorb them. As they say in the orient, "A journey of 10,000 miles starts with but one step." What they don't tell you is you might not live that long and you will wear out a lot of sneakers if you do. Anyhow I am glad to help in any way I can.

Thanks a lot Roger... Im starting to realize how much there is to learn... Overwealming but exciting at the same time! Im just glad there are people willing to help out! So thank you again!!
