Hi guys, Im Sketchup user almost 14 years...mostly on Windows, now Version 2020 Pro + Vray 5 + D5 render...
But I have bought new Apple M1 chip Macbook Air 2020, the base config with 8GB RAM...honestly I Have to say thats great with Sketchup /no issues and almost fast as my win-workstation/ but my question was...what about reder....

VRAY 5 works well /I did maybe 10 test renders of my old scenes.../ nothing heavy, almost now issues /I had to work aournd with Fur-grass setup a bit/

      and I have tested
Twilight render....and it works...and works great / I was searching for something fast to produce renders on Macbook Air beacuse seems like Im leaving Vray after 10 years and switching to D5 render/

Hope these infos are helpful for someone

I was roaming around D5 renderer but I came across here that it uses new RTX Nvidia cards for rendering and since I will wait some more time to get a reasonable price on 3090.

So, on new M1 silicon there are no RTX and Nvidia options at all, how will you utilize renderer?

Well D5 render is Nvidia based, RTX is not necesity but really good to have. I was working on RTX 2060 with 6GB and it was enough for my purpose /stills max 4K/ and the rendertimes was maximum 2minutes per image.... but when you are aiming for long 4K videos its better to go for RTX 3.... series, but the problem is that is really out of stock now...

Now is my setup MAcbook Air for daily work /web, emails, CAD drawings in Draftsight, modeling in Sketchup, quick preview renders in Vray or Twilight/ and when I need to work on archviz I turn on win workstation and run D5 render... but now its maybe once a week or so...
