Notifications-not.
-
Did a search for problem of not receiving notifications. Found some stuff from a few years ago, check spam folder etc.
This has been odd for me, was getting some but not all and they have now tailed off to none.
Any ideas? -
I suppose you mean forum post notifications. Well, the system sends them out. I do receive them. Some spam filters might put them into the spam folder or even erase them. What type of mail inbox do you use? Gmail?
-
Hi Gabor. I do mean forum post notifications. Well I received this one!
I use Thunderbird as my client for several E-mail addresses. Including one Gmail.
I have been subscribed, for example, to the 'SubD examples' post from the beginning of the thread. Today on a site visit, I noticed many posts from that thread that wewre not notified.
I have lost track of the many posts that I am following, but I have recieved few, if any, 'forum post notifications'for quite a while.
(I have checked junk and spam filters).
Cheers, Baz -
Hi Baz,
Thank you for the detailed description. ow I've checked our forum's error logs and the last mail sending error occurred last year in August. I'll watch the mail sending for a few days to see if I can find any flaws in it or not.
Does anybody else has this problem?
-
Seems not.
I am getting notifications now, I think. Perhaps there's some sort of entropy... If one doesn't visit the site for a while? Perhaps I cleaned up my browser of cookies etc?Not a biggie tho Gabor. Thanks.
Baz.
PS: The site has always been very slow to load, and now I on a data diet, it takes for ever.
Do you have anyway to reduce the sites data size?
For example the Skalp banner ad I am looking at now, the image alone is 279.19 KB (285,888 bytes). Cos its a GIF. Any options on the site to turn em' off?
