Newbie help with a suspension simulation?
-
I was wondering if I could get some help with making my suspension simulation move. I've watched some videos but, I can't seem to make them work in the way I want to.
I have an upper control arm, A lower control arm, and a spindle. I tried to make 3 hinge joints and a servo joint so I could move it up and down at my will but, things just wiggled around and moved off of the actual joint and such...
That's what it looks like visually... let me know what more details I can provide so I can get this thing moving.

If it's not secret defense you must post the SKP file in "Save as V6" for a more large audiance!
- shema of what must Move / Rotate! (Put arrows on your image)
Maybe you can try the New MSPhysics! by Anton_S
Quasi same use than SKetchyphysics!
Advange : no more interference with other Plugins, more powerful ! -
Jim helped me out with my bifold doors. Perhaps this will give you some insight to a solution for your control arm etc.

So here's where I at. It's extremely rough, and I realized I was doing some stuff wrong. Only the upper control arm is built the way I think it should be for Sketchy Physics. If I put a hinge joint on the pivot point of the control arm then the control arm kind of does what I want it to do... If I put a servo joint on that same pivot point then the control arm flops around but doesn't not stay specifically attached to that hinge... not quite sure what I am doing wrong yet.
The file is saved here in the link below, I did as you suggested and saved it as a Version 6 file.

That video actually helped A LOT as far as grouping.
I was having an issue with a servo joint moving off of it's axis when rotating and I changed EVERYTHING to non-collidable and it solved that issue so I guess it was hitting somewhere. Everything moves as it should but, obviously now it doesn't stop when it hits the frame rails so I've gotta figure that out.
