Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes, absolutely. The only difference is you will have to pay for shipping. Most shipping options are in the range of $150-$225 for USPS Priority Air Mail (2-8 day service) with insurance.
Importantly, those prices above are only with a non-standard case configuration. The suggested option is the Fractal Design Node 804 (available at the top of the page under 'Case'). The Node 804 supports a maximum of 32GB of RAM and 2 video cards.
An even smaller case is available for the C1000 - the Fractal Design Node 304. Keep in mind that with this case you are limited to a maximum of 16GB of RAM and 1 video card.
All international buyers must contact Orbital Computers before ordering to figure out the cheapest shipment option.Q. Should I get a CPU water cooler or air cooler?
A. Orbital Computers highly recommends air coolers for most workstation applications. The Noctua air coolers that are offered standard on Orbital workstations offer nearly identical CPU cooling performance as all-in-one water coolers while running at far quieter volume levels and providing greater reliability.
Water coolers have a significantly greater number of points of failure (water block, pump, tubing, radiator, fans, etc.) versus air coolers which only have 1 main point of failure: the fan. The Noctua fans used all have 6 year warranties and are optimized for the quietest operation possible while still providing water-cooler levels of performance. That said, Orbital Computers does offer Corsair water coolers, at no additional cost. Simply select the CPU cooler option you want under the 'CPU Cooler' section.Q. Can you overclock my workstation?
A. Yes, Orbital Computers does provide overclocking for free on any compatible system. The C3000 Pro comes overclocked to 4.00 GHz (up from 3.60 GHz) by default. If you want an even higher overclock, choose an upgraded CPU cooler and leave a note in the 'Build Notes' section. You will receive the highest stable overclock possible. While the 5820k CPU is capable of overclocks over 4.50 GHz, it is Orbital Computers' policy to not max out overclocking frequency as excessive overclocks can decrease system stability and CPU lifespan.
To overclock the Orbital C1000, select the '4790K' CPU and the 'Z97' motherboard options. An overclock to 4.60 GHz (up from 4.40 GHz) will be included for free.Q. What are your warranty terms and what's the cost?
A. The maximum warranty option is included for free on all Orbital Computers workstations.
The terms include:- Free US-based, in-house tech support for life. This support is provided exclusively by Orbital Computers employees - it is never outsourced.
- 3 years parts, 5 years labor. Many components come with extended warranties of their own, e.g. RAM has a lifetime warranty, Noctua CPU coolers have 6 year warranties, etc.
- 2 years on-site service. Orbital Computers arranges and pays for a technician to visit your office to provided repairs as needed.
- Express parts replacement with the fastest shipping service available (usually overnight or 2-day service).
- Full system restore disk(s) included free.
Q. Can something not listed on the site be custom built?
A. Yes, contact Orbital Computers to have a fully custom system built.Contact: https://orbitalcomputers.com/contact.php

I'm rig building right now... That's a little too rich for my blood. It's so easy to put them together I just can't spare the money to pay someone else to do it for me.
I'm looking at going...
i7-5820K = $390 new - $250 used
Asrock X99 2011-v3 Formula Mobo = $260 new = hard to find used $200
Corsair Vengence 16gb of DDR 4 2666 = $260 new hard to find cheaper even used. ram is very expensive right now. sell your old ram... I just sold my 5 year old ddr3 ram for exactly what i paid for it new.
Case = $50-150I have all the other stuff. 1100watt PSU, 250gb SSD with 3tb of HDD, 2 GTX 770's and a new case.
I will probably buy all my gear on ebay since they have their hardware guarantee... I can't bring myself to buy new cars either.
That being said, lots of times when you put it together there is often something missed. Some part that doesn't work with some other part and the more you bargain shop the more it will happen... Research is a must. You will easily spend many hours in research.
There is also the risk of DOA parts. Dead on Arrival. then you wait for the return process.
There is the chance, albeit small, that you will break something... Okay, it's bigger than small... Just don't ever force something that isn't going... take your time and don't apply too much force to anything... EVER! unless you have to... lol
I guess what I'm saying is you can save a lot of money building your own... But if any of what I have said scares you? You should jump on this deal. You'll just get a fast, working box that's warrantied. You'll hit the button and it will just work. No messing around, no wasted time...
Actually... When I think of all the hours of research and building... I'm probably in the hole about 2k on every computer I've built. Hmmmm...

I placed an order for a modified Orbital C3000 Pro and received shipment earlier this week.
This was my first "big boy" rendering computer so I had lots of questions. Danny from Orbital handled these like a pro...prompt responses and advice...following through to the end. Customer service was outstanding and I'm considering purchasing a lower cost business computer from Orbital.
I've had the machine up and running a couple days now and I'm thrilled with the performance especially being back on W7 Pro from W8.1.

I have a i7 4930, 32 gb ram, p9x79, gtx 770 and all the rest I recovered from my previous built.
I do recommend to buy a proper case. Rebuilding is a lot easier with a decent case.
I'm very pleased about my fractal design Define R4.Until today I can render anything I have to in less then 15 min and at a very high quality.
