Just thought I'd show some NPR images me and a colleague did some time ago as a quick job to show something when there wasn't much to show in the early stages of a project.
A basic sketchUp volume model was printed and my colleague sketched on tracing paper which I scanned and painted in Photoshop.

I then did a test with some digital watercolor but we ended up not using it.
I still think it looked pretty good.

These are cool. Along the "Tradigital" vein. So there's no Sketchup output seen really? Great job on the water effects.

I think (and hope) NPR work will become more prevalent in the near future. My clients are bored with super photo realistic images and as one of them said to me recently (get ready for a chilling breeze): "Can't you send this off to India and cut our costs?"

These look great. They're very personal, very distinct. I particularly like the second one with water.

Well could you? Send it to India? And why not provide NPR to the bored client? Actually you could send the job to the Philippines and get a super NPR job from a great guy (Alan Casas).

I think the same thought (outsourcing) has been around for a long time with CAD production, but I am convinced I cannot do it effectively. There will also be cheaper producers out there whether they do it in house or outsource, and I don't intend to compete with them (in cost).

You can also get less expensive PR and NPR in the "West" from great people, if you know where to look.

I like to see (and use) NPR too.
