I like the simplicity of the design, but a few small splashes of colour would bring life to the scene. Perhaps a couple of crimson scatter cushions.

I think it's a good start. I have just a couple of suggestions. I know it was meant to be simplistic, but some pictures or a sculpture on the wall above the bed would be nice. It's so stark. Also, the sheets look plastic rather than comfy and something I want to crawl into to take a nap.
