ExpressCard with Mini USB 2.0Solid State Drive

Hi Guys,
Does anyone have a ExpressCard with Mini USB 2.0 Solid State Drives running in their laptop either Win or Mac?
I intend to hold onto my 17" MacBook Pro (Intel Core i7) for a while longer as its running quite well and I like the big screen. The new 15" MBP with retina is temping but I will hold off until Apple start offering some refurbs on their site, probably in 6-9 time.
My question is, would it make sense dropping in a SSD Expresscard. I notice that prices have become more reasonable of late and there are some good deals to be picked up.
