My laptop has died what replacement?

My laptop a sony vaio Z has been brilliant for 3 years but has died and i need to replace it. I am forced to use my very old quosmio and have realised my eyes now need the large screen so I am looking at the vaio 16.4 f23 or 24 with the biggest processor and the 8 gb of ram and hd screen.
is this a good choice?
Sketchup is my number 1 app with a bit of graphics and photoshop on top this F24 vaio works out at £1450 with the warranty any advice or warningsfrom users with this laptop or alternative before I make the deal would be appreciated
