looks great and impressive.
though yes i admit that i agree, it might be a bit overdone?
we have our grand family's houses in other province with beautiful natural greenish surrounding. including those waterfalls alike. big and small ones.
in that height and slope elevation the water might be still looks crystal clear mostly. sometimes with tiny sprinkles everywhere, if it has quicker flowing speed.those are marvelous works

I thought I was finished with this until after Christmas but I was trying out some new landscape techniques and thought I would upload.The house in the model is actually located in a suburban area but I much prefer more natural/wild landscapes.
One of the things about the composition is that most of the major elements are pointing to the house.The boat,cliff face in the background and low wall at front,even the low overhanging branches are all pointing in the direction of the house.This helps to draw your attention towards it.The foreground tree on the right is leaning in ,again ,towards the house.
The second image is more an exercise in adding some movement via the falling water,plus it helps to catch some of the red light from the low evening sun.
For the third image I wanted to try a variation on the water with a different light.I think the water is a bit overdone but the overall lighting,in this case an overcast day works quite well.

as if i'd like to wash my face and hair there. sitting on those rocks with my feet in the cool water. and the breeze humming a soft music -
Dave, I don't think I would ever commission a house until I had seen you render it in four seasons, four times of the day, and four different weather conditions. Once I had seen that, I could feel safe making a decision.

A few more variations.The first is just a set of cropped images from some previously uploaded,the second a few different versions of the water and the third a close up of the actual building.
The large timber clad building is actually a new pool-house with a 2 storey copper-clad and a single storey stone-clad structure attached.
There are some photoshop brushes available for free download which enables you to create different water effects(see these images previously uploaded http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=81&t=28631)
I hope to put together a step by step for creating rivers/streams for the post pro forum later.

A closer look to the building,also an image with very little post pro - only the trees and shrubs and a colour tone added.
We haven't decided whether to go for standing seams on the copper or full panel open joints,my preference is full sheets.
