Mac Mini combined with iPad?

I can see a few advantages in a set up like this if the connection can be fast! Firstly, the Mac Mini is a beefy little box with up to i7. The following is a exercise

Well! Its not cheap but your have (sort of), a unit that is nearly as portable as a laptop. Probably about the same weight. Then again, if you wanted to go somewhere and 'show' something its probably only the iPad you would bring!
In a house / office situation it would not be a major issue to use this set up while laying back on the sofa with feet of coffee table. The Mini could be on the floor and you would have the iPad in hands. The resolution on the iPad (1024-by-768-pixel resolution at 132 pixels per inch (ppi) is perfectly acceptable for most work and it has the added bonus of allowing on screen gestures! Also there are rumours of a 2048x1536 iPadHD coming out later this year ..... sounds interesting but I imagine price will be high, however I would like to see that res on the 9" iPad screen .... must be like reality!
Maybe worth thinking about when one considers an equivalent MacBook Pro or Air with similar spec would cost in the region of $1250!
After writing this I am now wonder has its been a waste of time
