My stuff, if you would like to take a look at it
-
Hello, I just came to these forums after finding it on google.
Below are the three crown jewels of my collection.
I'm 16 now, and I've been using sketchup since version 5 (so that must be for, like, 4 years?)
If you can make it to the end without getting bored, feedback would be appreciated.firstly a house I made just for fun, it took hours of work. Structurally it could actually be built given land, time and money.
Next, my GCSE project. we had to make a small storage or lighting unit in the art deco style. Being the geek I am, I made a cable storage system.
It has a big box which would hold power adapters, transformers, chargers, and extra cabling, then once you put the lid on that box there is a tray on top which can hold all your devices while they charge, the ends of the charging cables can come out through the nozzle to reach the devices, but they are held in place and don't slip down the back. Therefore it prevents eyesore and holds your cables in place. And some photorealistic vray renders:

Well Android, it looks like you have a pretty promising future in this field. I love the V-Ray work It really is eye candy!
I'm looking forward to more of your stuff. Keep it up. -
Thanks for sharing! My comments would be that on the house pictures, you need to use less people in the scene, and add variety by using different figures and not having them face all of the same direction. Also, the face-me figures look funny when viewed from above, so I wouldn't use them in overhead scenes.

Well thank you both very much!
I knew there was something that I had forgotten - I was only using those people to make sure the dimensions were ok. I was going to go back and delete them! thanks for reminding me.
I'm afraid my work is going a bit slow, I've been working on a school but it is already getting more complicated than the house (and therefore more resource intensive)
have you got any advice on this? I'm using components where possible, and the walls are mainly curves from a 24-sided circle. -
oh and sorry for the double-post but, I just noticed the WIP section of this forum. I'm sorry for any convenience, and mods or admins, if you're reading this, feel free to move it there.

Welcome Jacob and indeed nice stuff (although I had to keep side scrolling to see all)

Well, so far it1s more like an "introduce yourself" topic. Some people like to post their works separately while others have a long topic with all their WIP stuff in there. There are no real "rules" here we just wanted to make some order (although I am not sure it's a successful decision).
So we'll see - or you can decide any time and we can move...

nice. you should design some furniture to put in your house.

Well, it is not in this forum (the gallery) but I hope it says something about the general approach and atmosphere here (red by me now...)

Hello there,
Welcome to this little SketchUp Community we have set up here!
Welcome to this forum for all your beginners questions. You may also have more advanced questions and may post them in the appropriate forum.
In case you're not sure if your question is beginner or advanced (or very specific) then don't worry too much. This World is full of worrisome people already and we want you to get that cozy - de-worried feeling here. So in that case just post it here anyway. If we feel that it can be answered in a more specialized (sub)forum (like Vray or SketchyPhysics for instance), we may help you by moving your post there (note that you will always find your posts under the "View your posts" link at the top).
And well, looking forward to that school project!

thanks again for the feedback

I did design a bit of the furniture, if you see the video I made the dining table and all of the kitchen from scratch (apart from the texture of the dishwasher) myself, and got the sofa and TV from the warehouse. it does take time, I took about as long just doing stairs, doors, kitchen induvidually as the rest of the house!
