Cycles Renderer
-
Here a try at the New Blenders Cycle Renderer.
Have been editing the image below with different materials.
Models out of scale.
-
Have you some time rendering info for this image?
-
thank you for letting me know about the Cycles renderer... I was going to ask you what it was but then googled it and was blown away
Cycles is a "fully integrated physically based renderer", and from the videos I've seen it really delivers..
Check it out!

Pilou,
Its a Path Traced render. Rendered at 300+ passes or cycles and
took about 1/2 hour on my old single core Laptop.Below is another render with 1000 passes and took 1hr 19mins.
Materials are created with nodes.
Engine is Windows32 and came out yesterday from

thx for the infos!
-
Cooking allot of trees. The trees are from ngPlant.
For now it just 52 render passes.
-
Cycles then, its a great engine and gonna be greater soon.
What build are you using? Your render times seem a bit too long.
I'm in love with cycles already. Haven't test it on SU models so far but I could post one or two render tests if you like.
The funny with cycles is that poly count affects first calculation only (1 min for 3 million faces ) then render time is the same as in a low poly model.
A new windows build from graphicall allows you to use multi UV maps if you're interested. Else, as these are experimental pre alpha releases, cycles crashes. It will be better and more optimized in a few days anyway. -
Yes, its nice render engine, very fast and good quality renderer.
Im using the new versions.
Render speeds have been cut in half and is now faster
with the newer builds.Im now using this one here:

For mac users, not advanced users I mean, here, its very fast no cuda though. Multiple UVs work fine in this one.
