Version 3.2/3.1

I'm new to this forum. I don't see instructions for posting questions.
Anyway here's my question.
Why is the latest version [3.2] install as version 3.1?
The file is labeled version 3.2 but the installer says it will be installed as 3.1

You are fine. All questions go in the Newbie forum.
About your question, what exactly are you trying to install? The current stable release of SketchUp is version 8. Perhaps if you made it clear what it is you are installing, someone could help you out.

I have Sketchup 8 and I'm trying to install Sketchy Physics 3.2. Will SP even run with basic SU8 or do I need the pro version?

I'm not an expert on SketchyPhysics but it should work with the free version.

Hi Draffter and welcome!
Here, in our "Getting started" topic there are some tips about forum use, too. Also, above the topics, there is also a FAQ link but of course, you can always ask anything.
We also have a Sketchy Physics subforum under the extensions forum (and I am moving your topic there now so that you can have some better help there - I do not use SP myself either).

Back to my original question. The latest SketchyPhysics is labeled ver 3.2 but installs as ver 3.1. When trying to connect components, the program will send up a flag saying "Version 3.2 required"
Can somebody explain why version 3.2 doesn't install as "Version 3.2"?
And I do believe I'm now in the proper sub-forum.

Draffter's question is also my problem. I downloaded a sp (sketchyphysics) plugin version 3.2 but when it was installed, its now 3.1. And the bugs are crashes on collision and wierd collisions.

DraffterI'm not sure if anyone knows. it shouldn't hurt anything.

I just forgot to update the version number in the installer. I will make a note to fix it.

I have the same problems listed as others here. I have tried installing SketchyPhysics 3.2 (which lists as 3.1), and had limited success with attempts to connect joints, usually with a message in the top left "Requires SketchyPhysics 3.2". I have also tried uninstalling and then installing SketchyPhysics 3.1, which comes up with the message "Requires SketchyPhysics 3.1". Without the ability to connect my hinge joints, the model does not simulate correctly. I have had some intermittent success with more basic sketchup models, but usually encounter the same issue. I have been following the steps as per the tutorials etc exactly, and experimented around with different state and shape combinations. I am using the latest Sketchup 8 which I downloaded less than a week ago. This problem is occurring on both Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows XP Professional installs.

Can you give me the exact steps you use when it fails?
