First real render
-
So here goes this is the first real render that I've done (I have done bits and pieces for Uni and the like but nothing that I think has approaced the quality of this) rendered in Kerkythea with a little post pro with the Gimp (yeah I'm really tight fisted) hope you like it any critisim welcome

Nice render.
However the car looks a bit slim .

hi nice start!! nothing wrong with using free programs!
yeah i agree it does look quite narrow and tall, maybe its just the perspective etc. the paint needs more reflection, it looks quite flat around the bumper and grille......kinda like plastic.

Thanks guys, I think that narrow body is down to perseptive rather than the model being to thin but I'll have a look into an other camera angle. I'm just gonna start off a new render with greater reflectivity before I go to work just to see how it turns out I'll post the results tomorrow as I dont clock off till 12 to night.
Thanks again

play with IOR too (or refractive index, whatever its called in KT i dunno) The higher it is, the more mirror-like the surface.

First off sorry it has taken me so long to post this its been lying around on my desk for almost a week now I took onboard some of the comments and have changed a few things, including the perspective which hopefully makes the car appear that bit wider. I also increased the refractive index of the body work I think that this is about right as anything shinier just looked silly, I tried messing with the material on the grill but it is still appearing that bit to plasticy
as alway comments are really helpful
thanks.
