I just posted a blog entry about Matt Scarpino's new book:

Automatic SketchUp: Creating 3-D Models in Ruby
      Matthew Scarpino
      Eclipse Engineering, 2010

      Executive Summary: Buy it.

      For details, see:

I agree. I am a "reluctant" coder so I found this book's straightforward approach very refreshing. It is particularly useful for those few of us who see automating Sketchup as a new basis for communication generally.

With TBA interfaces we can analyse what is to be achieved so that IT can help with automation to achieve it.

wished I had this book 6 years ago, but I am glad that now I gave a hand (review part) in helping future SketchUp Ruby coders.

Looks good, I think it will be on my shopping list.

Being totally ignorant on the subject of ruby scripting I think I will buy this book and gain some insight. It looks to be good value at $32.

I also notice that the author, Matthew Scarpino, says in Chapter 1: Introduction to SketchUp Scripting

For further support with SketchUp scripting, you can't do much better than http://www.sketchucation.com
