My 2011 Milano is nearly finished; I'll be working on it a bit this weekend I hope. Just have half the dash to do and all the insert details and buttons. The back end isn’t quite 2010 Mustang, it’s very similar but if you look at the shape it is a bit different.

Just got back from a damn hard day’s work, I work at Wanganui Motors/Ford & Mazda, doing Services, WOF's, etc. Its part of my work experience for the Automotive Mechanics course I'm doing

I just work there Fridays, but I do the other 4 days of the working week at course.

Here is an update on the Milano; new 5 point surround sound system, work on the dash, updated tyres. Hopefully I'll finish the dash in the next few weeks, then I'll move onto basic suspension just for looks, then it’ll be finished.

I think it looks good, maybe just make the wheels a little smaller?

Hmm, good to see the thread back up and running. I'm having a bit of a time management problem myself. IGCSE, 24H Nurburgring and Top Gear all on the same month.

                      FML.

Nice work Devin. The wheels are looking better now, just tuck the rear wheels.

Ben, don't think I'll be doing any SKP until summer, but my version of the '11 Milano is ready. I'm afraid it'll be without the interior - don't have time to work on anything other than some boring CAD of a museum. Plus, don't want to be the last one to upload one.

hey rouge i love your interiors! most of the time i make my cars and they look like empty shells with the windows colored black to not show it has no interior. I would love it if you could collaborate with me on that 😄 your interiors are great and i would also like to know how you make them. It is very vague in my memory something about you making a tutorial on interiors but i'm not so sure (im kinda lazy to look 😉) but if you could that would be awsome. Now about your cars i really like them i have always been a fan of your work but your cars always seem to be like very contemporary. You should make a car out of your comfort zone. Come up with some kind of design no one would come up with. Kind of like i did with the Pash i made (check it out on my thread.) it would be interesting to see what you can come up with.

I would love to help you out with the interior work. It’s very hard for me to teach someone how to model interior. The way I do it takes a very long time and it’s very hard. I do have a few videos on YouTube that may help you but they are pretty dated and only deal with starting off your interior.

I don’t really have a lot of modeling time. I’ve stopped all of my other projects just to get this done, so I don’t know how much I could help.

I really want to get around to some more interesting designs but I have lots of models in the way. I’ll get this Milano done next week, as I have a holiday week, then I’ll try working on some really quick models.. May need to refer to some of my really old drawings to get inspired XD

I really agree with Ray about some more interesting designs of your own. I would love to see a concept design from you. 😄 Try a muscle car since you seem to like them. 😄

Yeah, I do like Muscle cars a lot but I think I may try a sports/supercar. I have a few designs in mind but I have already tried to model both, both with no results. Very hard to free hand model, especially with modern designs 😉

Anyway, here is a little update on the model. It’s my holiday break now so I’ll be doing more work soon. Damn the small details are hard!

I guess people see what type of cars we model most and want to see what we could come up with for a different genre. I like your designs a lot Ray! And I think it would be great to see some of that styling go into a more familiar shape. I do like sports cars a lot, my favourite car is a DB9, but I just find it easier to model muscle cars as the shapes come more naturally.

@ Goldenfrog, you’re still experimenting with car designing so it may take a little while for you to find the designs you like most. It don’t think it took Ray and me too long as we were already designing cars and had found our genre.

The file size for the Milano just spilled over the 7MB mark. Once I finish the dash I think it will be around 8MB.

isnt the size limit for the warehouse 5mb. but i hope its not that way u can get all the details in to Milano. and if it is only what will u do to lessin the size of the file?
