Looks awesome! Sand looks a lot like snow, but other than that, the water is spectacular! Is that Mental Ray and the "lume" shader for the water? Displacement also looks great on the stone for the house! Nice work.

Can you just breifly explain what you used 3dsmax for in the process?
check where i am at currently in terms of model/render: http://skateparks.com/envision.php?nid=146#top

Do you know how i can take this model to a level similiar to yours?
thanks for your help and time. amazing work!

I like both images. The second has alot more life and warth to it. But like the mood of the first image. It really depends on your audience / client. The sand it a big improvement by the way

Unfortunately we can't see this beautiful sky on reflections this way. There is a better way...

                                Wow.

                                Fantastic image and great composition.
The water looks amazing, but a little cloudy as mentioned. Minor detail to a wonderful render.

whats the setting for that water.... really love that caribbean feeling to it! you nailed it in my eyes, perhaps the sand waves look better with a bit more shaper wave pattern on the tops πŸ’š

The first render looks very dreamy while the second render has more realism to it from the sand detail. When I first saw the picture, I was thinking about erosion and how on most beaches that house wouldn't last because of the weather and tide. Although if it was in a coastal waterway, it could be buffered from the brunt of the oceans power and work really well. Or it could work really well for a lake home too. The one thing that seem challenging is creating a divide between the water and the sand.

I like the first rendering and the last one better, the sand looks more realistic. And the sky is better too. The idea of the house is nice too, combining stone walls with glass surfaces πŸ˜„
