Tridem,
Thanks. I'm in the process of working on my tire material now. The reflections you see are from an HDRI environment. I haven't quite decided what to do for the background yet. I'm debating between a straight up studio environment or an exterior shot. I like the studio idea but it might not fit w/ the classic car as well.

Solo, Great image! That gives me an idea for my "studio" setup. Maybe I can do something akin to what you've got there. The black & white tiles could work as a studio setup material and still give it that retro feel, maybe even include a background. Most of the images I looked through to find some references didn't have quite the vibe I was going for. Usually they had a half naked chick stradling the hood and were from some Lowrider magazine.

I vote for the half naked chicks - and does low rider refer to the level of her top / bottoms?????

Hahaha! It very well could! Na, here in the states we've got a lot of folks who love to lower their cars almost until they touch the ground. Our Hispanic community, especially, is enamored with restoring classic cars and then doing this sort of thing. It tends to be akin to the folks who extravently paint their cars with bright paint, put some subwoofers in the trunk, and dip every imaginable part in chrome. There are dozens of "Lowrider" magazines that feature these cars and almost all of them have bikini clad women on the cars. I'd post a reference picture but I'd fear a ban on my account!

Bit of useless knowledge here about the 58 Impala...
In 58 GM only made two models convertible.. the Impala and the Vette.
My father had the Impala and sold it in 65 for a Pontiac Grand Prix.
The best part of the car is the rear... those three tail lites are nice.. -
My first Car (note the "C"), second hand, 2 door, white hardtop. Loved it, thanks for the post.

The golden age for Chevy. . . .
THe Bel Air / Impala from 56 to 66. Those were Bitchin' Rides!!! My fave was the 64

Brodie>>>Could you tell us where to find the car?
Thanks

Tons of great high poly models. Mine was found in the "cars" section. Only problem is that it can be tricky to find a particular model you're looking for. If you're just wanting to browse models though you can stumble on some great stuff.

FYI, I updated some images. They're back on the front page.

Nice renders. For me, the second one is the money shot.
...But why is only the right light working? -
Jerks that sold me the left 2 headlights must have accidently dipped the bulbs in chrome. Thank goodness for test renders

I owned one of these babies in 1969, same color. Seems to me $5.00 would buy all the beer, gas, and smokes (I smoked then) you needed for the weekend. In 58 it was even better, although airfare hasn't really gone up.
Really fantastic work
