I love DOF too. Terra cotta WIP
-
Tanagrea (woman from Tanagra -near Thibes Greece) is the common greek name for these ancient terra cotta sculptures. Usually 10-25 cm.
Modeled and textured and baked in blender, rendered in SU+podium. No zbrush this time. Rendered in 52 sec - old noisy preset. PP just for DOF and vignetting.

wow another awesome use of your trademark michalis' workflow...

Great...love the lighting and pp.

Wowo, very cool render...

Very Cool Michalis, I notice soft shadows, is that rendered with the new Podium beta?
Is the composition intentional? the three sisters huddled together, gossiping and planning the demise of the pretty one... a Cinderella scenario.

Exactly so pete. I'm modeling 3 more figures, placing them together, you'll see then what 'intentional' means. lol This is the funny game with these beautiful little statues.
New podium? I'm just a poor mac user. -
The woman on the far right looks really suspect. Watch out

Suspect of what? Everybody has the right to use his own lighting.

I like the statues.
Now you got me interested in Blender. Any good "Blender for newbies" tutorial you might suggest? -

Now you got me interested in Blender. Any good "Blender for newbies" tutorial you might suggest? The most important in blender is box modeling (completely different from SU methods).
Here's one nice for newbies. As I remember, Sepo sent me this link.

The third sister.

Some PP here just for DOF. Two dof maps exported from SU. I had to simulate a macro style photo. An apple model too, (for PC lovers lol), a blender UV mappning at its best. Have fun.
