OK OK so twilight is prettty sweet
-
Just downloaded demo of twilight and heres my first render! It's an old scheme for a tower that I had lingering in my old skp files.
I haven't edited any materials or glass settings so no reflections yet. To be honest I havent looked at the manual!
I rendered the model on its side (to fit more in) and then rotated it. I added a slight bit of blur at top of the tower, no other post process.
Nice application

Looks great so far, I'd like to see it with all materials tweaked now.
-
seems nice!!!!
-
I see A LOT of potential in this model...
But obviously you'll need to work on the materials as well as the lightning...Keep 'em comming - and we'll make sure to have a Mac version available soon...
-
yeah please do. Im currently running it on windows 7 through vm ware fusion. so i cant give it all my processing power/memory. is there an estimated release date for mac? I think i'll just keep practicing on the windows demo then I'll buy mac version. I need to read the manual before I do any more renders!
yeah i havent altered any materials/artificial lighting thats why theres weird green glass here and there!
i hate to say it, but what a wonderful app.

Eeehhh... Thanks... But why do you hate to say that...???
Hopefully many others will find that Twilight render is a great application...@olishea said:

No - unfortunately not...
But I assume that it will become available within a month or two... -
I just assumed it would be very complex and overbearing to set up materials /lights etc. but it's not. Beautiful simplicity. Also I didn't think it'd be so well integrated into SU. It's quick too, although I did this render with exterior progressive settings-550passes and it was still pretty quick. Shadows are very very nice. I've been dreaming about these soft shadows.
I just feel like I'm cheating on podium haha twilight is my mistress!

Oliver, move to Utah and become a render app polygamist
-
Pete, it seems you've had your fair share of render filth!

I just remembered Takesh-san was thinking of doing the same thing, but when Chris offered to transfer his license from Windows to Mac once the Mac version becomes available, he took the plunge:
http://twilightrender.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=282&p=1827#p1827And don't worry... A lot of us use more than one render program. As that glasses girl in the Final Fantasy XIII trailer said, "for every task, there is a perfect tool".
Remember to try the frosted glass and the brushed metals in the material templates, I was like when I first used them.
-
Oh right, cool. So if I buy the windows version now, the license will be transferable? Is this a guarantee?
