Thanks just waiting for one last render then finished for now. Ive included a shot of just the dry dock facility as well for a quick render. SU is starting to get slower but not slow enough for me to stop working. The files just under 35MB at the moment hopefully ill get this model nailed before the poly count goes beserk lol. At the moment the scaffold is all just floating there support structures to come. Off to London till thursday so no more updates after this>

2 hours between your first post and this one. Is that really all the time this taken?
You should definitely look into entering the speed modeling competitions on the forum!
Looks great!,

No I work on different sections at the same time in different documents and compile them only for render shots to save on memory usage, you understand? No even I dont work that quick although not far from it (I wish lol), however i only started this model last night ive done quite a bit in 24 hours.
Yes i really want to join the next speed modelling challenge I was gutted I just missed out on this one when is the next Chris? hopefully ill be back from London before it begins -
Hi Liam, I got your PM.
The competitions are held in the "competition" sub forum of the gallery. Its at the top of the main gallery page. See this link
The last one just ended and is about to start voting. So it will be a few days before they get into the next one. II am guessing it will b after Thursday. But if not, it really doesn't matter. You have a week or two, and you're only allowed one hour of modeling time. So if they start while you are gone, you will have plenty of time to get into it when you get back.
Again, great work on this model!

I LOVE THE DETAIL PITY ONE HAS TO DEAL WITH GROWING POLLY COUNT WELL DONE
-
mmm. This is yummy. I built an interactive model of the intrepid class once in Second Life. It was so much work but for some reason working with spaceships in 3d applications is strangely rewarding
-
Nice Podium GI renders as well.
-
Wow! I'm impressed! I saw the movie on Sunday and liked it quite a bit. I look forward to seeing your finished product.
-
Looks great!

When I saw the movie I got an idea to make something like this but now I will watch Your work!
Congratulation! -

-
Saw your model and it looks great.
Reminded me of this video I saw the other day...
Not willing to step into the Starwars / Star Trek conflict so I'll just step back from the video.

Well im back form london now so expect some updates coming pretty soon. I was going to buy Podium before i went to London but never had time so ill have to get in touch with Sepo tomorrow and get it sorted. There is lots of detail you haven't seen yet as my renders are too small with Podium free version so ill be doing a full size render this weekend.
@ tomislavm, you should try and give it a go as well if you had an idea, if you want you can help me make some refinery/ industrial buildings as ive got a lot of them to do? and i would appreciate the help as ive still got loads to do on the ship.
