Attributes Copied when Face is Divided/Pulled

I read this on the Google API Group, and did a little experimenting to confirm it works.
Start with a face, add an Attribute Dictionary with some key/value pairs. Split (or push/pull) the face and all the newly created faces will get a unique copy of the Attribute Dictionary.
I had no idea it worked like that.
