Sketchup 7 Sketchy Physics 2b Error
-
hey guys this is the first time ive posted on this forum
i just installed sketch up 7 and installed the sketchy physics 2b plugin but instead of opening correctly i was greeted by this error
"Error Loading File sketchyphysics.rb
126: The specified module could not be found. - C:/Program Files/Google/Google SketchUp 7/Plugins/Win32API.so"
the file specified is in its correct place and this error occurs with both Sketchy Physics 1 and 2b is this a common problem or a one off problem, and is it curable.
sorry my first post is negative

uhhhh...
Use SU6 for SP for now. if you dont have SU6 then that is too bad you can e-mail google for it or just wait for it to be fixed. like Vista. -
Actually ... it is a simple problem to fix. The error is as a result of a missing dll that was in version 6 but no longer in version 7. The dll needed is msvcr71.dll (it's a "C runtime dynamic link library"). It just needs to be copied into the installed folder (defaulted to C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp 7). If you already have version 6 installed, then use the version that comes with it (ie version 7.10.3052.4). I've attached it as msvcr71.txt but it first needs to be renamed to msvcr71.dll. As with any files downloaded from the Net, ensure you virus check it before use and check it for tampering ... it should be of size 348,160 bytes exactly and to check this, right-click it, select properties and examine the figure give in brackets for "size". Good luck

Installing the .DLL is the right fix and it will be in the next version.
