Maxwell rendered building

Well. Something wrong with view it looks like left side is falling down somewhere and road needs some texture.
Actually gras is ok but you need add some texture to roads.
And finally about lights. Maybe I'm wrong but I think a little more contrast is needed not for building but everything else.
PS. Keep working on it

Good point about the perspective. I probably could have fixed that up a bit in photoshop.
I'll have to ponder on the lighting comment. I'm a bit hesitant since the scene is all lit and calculated by Maxwell's physical sky properties so it should be pretty realistic. But looking better is always more important than looking more realistic so it's worth a shot. I'll keep that in mind.

Yes realistic and good looking is not allways the same

Brodie, changing the angle of the view, rather than looking at it staight on, might help.

Yeah, it was a bit difficult finding a good view. The original rendering I did...
...was from a further angle however it made the building look even longer than it should. I chose the more straight on view for the final to relieve some of this problem. I was limited partly in that I needed to show the front entry. We were also trying to show the relationship between the proposed building and the existing, which you see on the far left side of the final image. I could have probably chosen better camera properties, but I'm not sure, given all the things we wanted to do with 1 image, that I'd be able to alter the position of the camera much.

Lacking contrast but you should be able to sort that in postprocessing.

I think what gives the renderings a lack of realism is the overly clean textures! Particularly in the car park!
For that area I'd possibly do a very large weight map so you can mess up the area with oil, tyre marks, water streeks etc, even some leaves! You could even use the same map/s for your grassed areas to give some variety in the grass colours!
With maxwell to get realism I really find you have to dirty up surfaces.
Also I might be incline to stick with a better more rigid landscape theme - the mix of landscaping (mainly the palms) reduces the realism for me!

Richard,
Thanks for the comments. Whether you know it or not your my mentor when it comes to SU -> Maxwell
I agree w/ needing to 'mess things up a bit.' I've been doing that w/ Photoshop as time permits (obviously time didn't permit very much this time!) but I've heard you mention something like this before w/ your grass, how you applied a large map to it for some variety. However, I'm not quite sure I know what your suggesting. I know all the words, but I'm not sure how to fit them altogether to do what you're saying. Could you give me a bit more detail or perhaps just send me a .mxm so I can understand how to ugly it up?
I see what you're saying on the trees to. You've caught another of my current flaws. I bought some trees from Dosch in Rhino format but almost all of them are somehow corrupted and can't be used so as of yet my tree library is quite small. The best trees on there, in my opinion, are the palms, which are Solo's creations.

Brodie. Add more than one BSDF to material. Put some dirt maps in other BSDF and just play with weight and scale that's all. As simple as taking photo

Great, thanks. I'm playing with it right now. A little tricky to get the hang of but it'll definitely improve my textures!
