Is it possible, to make a solar system like model, using magnets where spheres revolve around others? I can't get mine to say "out" they always crash into the "sun" is there a way to make an object magnetic, yet a bit anti grav? So that it is repelled from the "sun" but still held near it due to it being magnetic?

    Thanks 😄

May be constrained to move along an elliptic or round trajectory. But I'm not sure the movement will not stop after a while at the nearest point between trajectory and Sun. How can you compensate the lost of kinetic energy ?
An other way : use motor-links with different speeds. For satellites you build sub-groups attached to planets.

      Interested to see your simulation

Will give the motor links idea a try and will post results 😄 Thanks!

So far I have managed to do the inner solar system, however once I get to jupiter, it goes alot faster than any other of the planets :S Obviously it isn't to scale and I haven't added axial tilt etc. yet. But we'll see 😄

Thanks 😄 Any idea why Jupiter would go alot faster? Even though it is set the same speed, and has further to travel?

                Hi Verrou

I watched your Solar system simulation yesterday evening ( living in France Tuesday 1Oth). May I suggest you change using UI (SketchyPhysic Tool bar) Max acc and Damp for each joint ( motors you've hidden in the Sun )?
The idea would be this : the remote the planet is, slower ( smaller values) you give to parameters.

                Just see on an astronomical table, the planet's periods. Mercury : 88 days Venus : 250 days Earth : 365 d., Mars : 667 d. then Jupiter ~ 11.4 years
and so on ...Pluto ~500 years.. .Then you may draw a diagram and so determine what values to attribute to each motor-planets...

                Sorry for this frenglish...

Okay thanks Malaise 😄 Will work on it when I've finished my homework -.- Hate the stuff.
