      Hi all, happy new year,

I am new in this forum and I practice Sketchup since 5 month.
This is my first rendering Sketchup Vray, I need your comment and help...
The scene is very simple, but I have working 3 hours on the textures and lightings
The Spotlight are very difficult to make (3hours with the omni light parameter) 😲
This Picture is directly with vray no photoshoped... 35 minutes rendering time.

      Thanks for your reply. 😎

Hi Fred and welcome to GSCF.

To tell the truth,I am not a rendering guru so you cannot expect too much constructivecriticism from me but I still have a question; is it correct that to me the bookshelves seem to emit light? It would be quite strange.

Otherwise I like the render (and agree that spotlights are hard to control)

          Hi Gaieus,

Thanks for your comment, yes the book shelves are lighty, but it was a try to render emissive effect.

In fact what is difficult with the 3d in general it is the ideas.... 😎

Okay, I see now - testing...

I'm not sure about Vray but many many emissive surfaces generally boost rendering time so also keep that in mind.

Look pretty impressive. And, if you compare it to my first 'render' it is godlike 😄

The next step you could take is adding a bump map to the floor, which will make it look far more realistic

                  Hi Fred

I rode what Gaius has written and I agree too. May be you may also focus on books which seem to be copies of the same group. You could rotate them.

                  Quite impressive work 👍
