Problems with Soap Skin Bubbles
-
Could someone please point out what i am doing wrong, when i open SU i find nothing, Frustrating thing is I used to have it working.
-
I don't have it on this machine I'm writing from but my guess is that you need to activate the plugin at Preferences > Plugins (and maybe even after this, the toolbar itself at from the View > Toolbars menu).
-
Is the time and date on your PC correct?
The reason I ask is that tonight is the expiry date of the SSB plugin.
-
Will the date be prolonged?

Just had a look at http://www.tensile-structures.de/sb_software.html and there has already been a newer version which works until 10th January 2009. I think last time the release ended there was a gap between the the time limit and a new release.
-
Is that a free plugin?
-
Yes.
-
yup it's free.....and the date was extended
And dolphus put the folder and the file in the plugins folder
not in tools
i guess he translated wrong from german. -
but it's work with the free Version of SU?
-

I have the free version of Sketchup. I have the plugin Soap Skin and Bubble. The plugin works fine for me.

You right : that's working in free one!
And see this video is a little +

I hate to be so stupid but I am still having trouble with getting
Skin
or
Soap Bubbles
working on my Mac Pro Laptop OS 10.4.11
I put the .rb scripts in the sketchup 7 plugins file, and also, tried them in the tools file, (both putting the .rb scripts in and out of the file they came in, inside the folder) I also put in the progressbar.rb script.I get error messages that say it can not read the soap bubbles stuff
and skin shows up but doesnt work except to clear.I would appreciate any help on this matter that anyone may have
thanks everyone/anyone

its also not working to me. It creates the skin, but then, no matter what I input as pressure and measurements, nothing changes. It stays FLAT. Very frustating
-
Did you press enter after the flat surface was created?
-
-
Sorry for that above laughter but I feel your pain; first it wasn't obvious for me either. So actually the "Enter" input is needed because though it gives an initial, default division, it waits if you want to change it and finally this is the way to let the script know if you accept the default or change it (hope I wasn't too hazy)
-
Nothing to be embarrased about AcesHigh, i actually didn't use the plugin for about 2-3 months after i first got it, cause i didn't know how to use it right....it just annoyed me one day and i pressed all the buttons that's how i learnt how to use it
-
haha, yeah, but I had already used the plugin before. I just had forgot how to use it!
worse of all is that Marian asked if I had pressed enter and I had already clicked the reply button and written YES and I was going to click submit than I thought... "well, maybe I should be sure I really pressed enter"... i created a new profile, created the soapbubble face like always... and pressed enter and MAGIC, it started "calculating" in that cool way this plugin works. That was what made me feel ashamed, I almost answered "yes" to the question like if it was some obvious thing to do... when in fact I had not done it!
