Just a head up on a possible visualization tool - this blog post describes a SketchUp to realXtend workflow.
I've never heard of realXtend before, but it appears to be an open-source virtual world engine (a la Second Life.) There are 2 parts to it: a viewer and a server. Presumably, once a model is imported to realXtend, you should be able to use an avatar to do walk-thru's and interact with the model.
