I wanted the old capability under animation to spin the model. I downloaded the old animation2.rb, but got this:

      Error Loading File animation2.rb
      /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/Plugins/animation2.rb:1: Invalid char `\003' in expression

What can I do to fix this ruby so it will work? Is there a newer ruby that will do the same thing?

        Hi Bob
Sorry but I don't know nuth'n about the ruby problem. I write in regards to the spinning function. It's still built into my version of SU-Pro v7. Its under 'Animations' in the 'Camera' menu. Is it not there in your SU too?

        Regards, Ross

PS - for some silly fun turn on the spinning and try to model. Some tools like the rectangle tool & push/pull work reasonably okay but the line tool is more challenging. For most fun try the freehand tool while the model is spinning.

          Bob,

That menu item appears when the Ruby Script Examples are enabled in the Extensions Preferences dialog.

          Hi

            Jim,

Thank you: to think that I thought I wouldn't need Ruby Examples 😳

I unchecked my 'ruby script examples' preference and restarted. Even though the examples are off the animated spin is still a feature under the camera menu. I believe it is a regular feature of SketchUp. No?

Hello Ross - I don't know. I needed to enable the extension to see it in SU7 Pro, and it went away when I turned it off the Ruby Examples and restarted.

                Hi
