Office Building (First post)
-
Hello
First time poster here. I recently downloaded Sketch Up and modeled an office building my firm has designed. I would like to get some tips on what program to use to make it look more realistic. Everything you see here is done in Sketch Up. The architecture firm I work for designs mostly large custom homes, so that is the type of work I will be doing. Any hints/tips/comments is greatly appreciated.

Good modeling work and good images. What do you need realism for? I have not used it myself, but I understand that Podium would make good images from models as well done as yours with minimal fuss. I think it has a trial version (as most do)

I like the look you've got going now but Kerkythea could help with your rendering needs! http://www.kerkythea.net/joomla/

Mr Mufakka,
Firstly welcome to GSCF.
That's a rather good looking model, even without rendering it has a great look.
If you want I would not mind helping you find the right rendering setup that works for both you and your firm, PM me or email me through the link on my site (url below)

Good looking model!
There are many great render engines for SU. Some, like Kerkythea, are no-nag freeware and easy to use. Here's an exterior rendering example, similar to your scene.

I like the trees! Where did you get them?

Thanks for all the kind words.
I'm installing Kerkythea right now. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions once I start using it, lol.
As for the trees, I found them in a model I downloaded through 3D warehouse.
