        Why do you say that?

Im already using vista, so im prepared for all that stuff, the only real upgrade is going to 64 bit.

I went from an old system with pretty old peripherals (printer, scanner, videocam, and a few others). I was on xp sp3. I upgraded my motherboard, processor, ram, dvd-rom, but kept all the peripherals and I made the jump straight to Vista 64bit. It was a headache, but only because the wireless adapter (the newest peripheral of everything I own) wouldnt work with 64bit no way no how.

Once I bought a new wireless adapter, all my other things upgraded to vista 64 bit just fine. Even a really really old HP scanner that they haven't supported for a few years had new drivers written just for 64 bit vista. All in all I am very pleased with Vista64 - especially my 8gb of ram.

Well the update was fairly stress free, took a while to find working audio drivers, but then creative have got a pretty poor record when it comes to drivers, so not really the fault of vista.

The one thing that is really pissing me off so far is that theres no 64 bit version of real player (that works), its only really annoying because i cant listen to live bbc radio, but its still pissing me off!

Havent tried any big renders or anything yet, although windows seems to be recognising all the RAM ive got, which makes a welcome change.

All in all a moderately succesful upgrade, although i dont think im going to start seeing the benefits until i get some more RAM (not to long hopefully.)

Can't you just run the 32 bit version of realplayer?

As far as i can tell theres only one version, and when you install it it says: "sorry, we cant install the following components on your 64 bit system: anything you actually want to use"

                Its quite frustrating.

lol. this is the 2nd post I've seen where the error response was fairly comical. Kinda lame it doesnt work though. Maybe I'll try it and see if I can come up with anything different....?
