I really like the new GUI of the new AutoCAD 2009. Very Vista like. It takes some getting used to but not so mechanical feeling.

I have it but have not loaded it yet.

I like the look of the screenshots I have seen.

Eric do you still use it, I thought you had moved over to Revit?

I let my "protection payments" (I mean, subscription) expire.

Dylan, the subscription my office has allows us to get a new version of Acad as well as Revit. Our Landscape Architecture department still uses Autocad as Revit has not broken ground in that area, at least not to the tune that we would consider using it. As far as for architecture, I just use it to look at the engineers drawings (of which I am sifting through dozens of structural at the moment).

So far (10 min of browsing) I am not impressed with the look. But then again I won't spend much time using it anyway so no biggie. That is until I get pulled in to do another monster planting plan.

I did look at the color schemes in the display options... Dark or Light. Mmmmm, choices. 😐

I downloaded Revit Architecture 2009 from the Autodesk Student website last week, worked through a tutorial for a few hours and it was an absolute joy to use.

I plan to put in some time learning it over the summer once I clear my workload and use it personally instead of ACAD

                    Eric,

If you go under preferences you can change the color scheme of everything but then again that has been there since Autocad 10:)

Yea I know but I just find it funny to see under the Window Elements: Color Scheme, Dark or light.

Don't get me wrong, I am an Autocad enthusiast but don't have a need for it much anymore. Just don't ever push me back to Datacad or I will fight.

LOL, the "good" old days! Nothing can be as bad as getting a Visio drawing that people call "CAD". Now that is one program that need to be put out to pasture.
