Hey all, not sure if you are aware of this little ripper.... my IT guy told me about it when i wanted a solution to synchronising my PC and notebook.
it's call "Allway Sync" http://allwaysync.com/ ...and it's free!!!!
just download it and set up a job to sync one computer to another. Easy as that.I have set up a 'sync' for my SU templates, styles, material, components, ruby folders, layout, scrapbook, etc so at the end of the day it takes me all of 1 minute to ensure that everything about the interface on my notebook is as per my my PC.
Way cool.

I certainly agree modelhead. I have an External WD 1TB network drive that backsup each night...
can never be too careful....

Andrew, be careful with Allways Sync. My memory is letting me down a bit but it was either Allways Sync or another similar programme Folder Share (I tried both) that some time back I I tried but I seem to remember it messed up SketchUp when I tried to syncronise components, materials and Ruby's in Sketchup programme files. I couldn't get Sketchup to work properly until I had uninstalled Allways Sync and reinstalled Sketchup.
Both programmes have also left 'placeholder' files all over my hard drive. The files don't interfere with anything and you can delete them but you have to do so individually so are a bit annoying to still have. If you find it now works ok let me know as I still think it is a good idea. I now have a portable hard drive that I use to syncronise everything but it has to be done manually and is never completely up to date.

I have been using SyncToy from Microsoft to backup files to a USB drive. It's small and easy to setup.

thanks Guys all seems to be going OK with it. I worked on SU and Layout last night on my notebook then sync'd it to the PC this morning and all is OK.
If things do start to play up I will have a look at Sync Toy Jim mentioned......
Cheers again.
