cool! i wish we could see the lines on the helium filled part, it would make it seem more realistic. my sugestion: un-smooth the lines on the helium filled part (i dont know what else to call it) so that the light will define the lines more.
great model! and as ussual, you make me feel like a begginer just looking at this. keep it up!

Igor, I un-smoothed and attempted a night render which would have been great except for color banding.

now that is awesome, i don't see that the colour banding has such a detrimental effect as you imagined. in fact, i quite like it in a way
