just a few lil 5 min models and renders.
got bored at work, so i decided to model some things from my desk.
oh and before anyone mentions the fact that the white block on the rubiks cube should be yellow, i do know but i was copying directly from the one i had in front of me, and it appears to be a cheap knock-off!

Must be really bored! I do the same thing when I don't have any work to do. You can only read soo many articles online before you feel like your head is about to explode... so this is a good way to relieve stress and practice your modeling skills! Good job
-
thank you!
yeah i think i have read every article there is to read on the internet!
i actually really went to town with the rubikc cube, being as i modelled the inside workins of it too, despite not being able to see it in the model (i know it's there, and that is all that matters!)this boredom coupled with the glorious sunshine, and the fact i can see my convertable from my work window makes work exceptionally annoying today!
ah well

Ive never managed to get one to lookas good as yours
Good on you for doing the inside, true dedication!
-
on the contrary, i believe your model is the better of the two!
my rubiks cube is fully complete (took me ages till i worked out the sequence!) but it seems a lot better with the colours mixed up. is that a genuine mix or a guess?
i ask because something about the blue just doesn't seem right.very nice render too!
shall we start a rubiks based sketchup competition? ha ha

Hi
Solo do you render in podium ? -
The above is done with Vue infinite, I will do it in Podium in a short while.
-
Paj, i kind of guessed the colours after looking at a picture. I was thinking about bevelling the edges, as in solo's model, but i couldnt be bothered. bring on a bevelling ruby!

I think the podium render looks better than the vue.
Those are some small tiles or a really big cube! -
-
Ha, that is how I used to solve it
-
ha ha, this is awesome! didn't mean to cause such a recation, but i'm glad i did!
maybe we could have s simple modle of an everyday object which everyone makes each week so we can compare modelling styles n stuff?come on peeps, more people need to make a rubiks cube!
