It seems like a tweaked version of Podium. I just bought Podium (v1.5) this week, I'm eagerly anticipating the release of version 2.0 - some of IDX features seems like the thing I wouldn't mind having in Podium (hint hint).
-
Not really like Podium. This seems the upgrade from the old TurboSketch. It is from the IMSI Design Team.

The PC version is taking a bit longer than we expected, but we're certainly within a few weeks of having it ready.
It is based on the TurboSketch design, but completely rewritten, and will have much better performance and better control over lighting for better results and will be almost identical to the Mac version.
This product makes assumptions and cut corners for simplicity (such as automatically creating a bumpmap, etc) as it is designed for professionals that don't want to have to become experts in the fine points of rendering. For the person who wants to tweak every detail at a granular level, we do have a Pro version that has moved off of the drawing board and into development, but it is still a ways off in time.
We don't have an open beta on these products, but if anyone is interested in becoming a beta tester, please contact me directly at wmanning @ imsidesign.com

I've been using the Mac trial version of IMSI's IDX Reditioner for about two weeks. For my purposes it is ideal. My job is to create concept models of changes and/or additons to our launch and payload processing facilities at Vandenberg AFB, CA. I have generated complete models of both our payload processing facility and our launch facility. I've said all this to emphasize that the models are very complex (large). Reditioner does an excellent job of rendering the entire models (which include a lot of topography) in about 20-30 minutes at high quality setting. It has taken me a while to get used to manipulating the lighting, but, in the main, it's easy. And the results very good. I then Photoshop them to get the shadows, contrast, etc. fixed the way I want them.
The automatic bump maps are really useful at my level of need.
This is a great product for me since I don't have the time (or need) to master the more sophisticated rendering progams, yet I get very good and FAST results using Reditioner.
My management has been very pleased with the results.
I'm waiting for the PC version before I buy Reditioner, because I prefer to do SketchUp on my PC because it is easier than the Mac version. If the development of the PC version of Reditioner stretches out too much longer I may have to go ahead and buy it (already approved) and develop the model on the PC and open on the Mac to render it. It's worth the trouble! -
It would be cool to see some top renders done with the engine in SU to really see how far it can be stretched.
I personally had trouble getting good output from it (demo), as the render lingo is different from the other render packages I use, making it more difficult to climb the learning curve.
My first impression is that a lot of tweaking is involved to get the light as you want.(EDIT): It seems I get the render engines mixed up.
I tested the Render Plus demo and not the 'Sketchup rendering system'...
So many launches of different render plugs on the market seems to confuse me.
I mean: Turbosketch, Irender, Accurender nXt,IDX renditioner, Render Plus,Sketchup Rendering System....
Is anyone still following?....
