Hatching..

UI parameters

Angle(deg):
- The rotation value of the hatch. Normaly between -90 and 90 deg.
- Other values can be used but with caution.
Spacing:
- Spacing between lines or patterns(not avalable yet).
Background color:
- When set to None there will be only edges and no background.
- When set to Default the background gets SU's default color.
- Otherwise, choose a material you have created in the Sketchup material-palette.
Edge color:
- When set to None only a Background will be created. One can of course not have background color to None as well.
- When set to Default the edges gets SU's default color(black).
- Otherwise, choose a material you have created in the Sketchup material-palette.
Layer:
- The hatches will be created in the selected layer.
- Layer Hatching is default layer and gets created If not available.
Crosshatching:
- Choose Yes for crossed patterns(Calculation is a little slower).
- When choosing Yes another dialog pops up after clicking OK on the 1st Parameters dialog.
- Crosshatching Angle: has a negative - angle value(crossed).
- Crosshatching Spacing: has the same value as choosen in 1st menu, by default.

Since ver 1.8 beta there is no longer need to select an edge prior to hatching.

At the moment it is only possible to use 1 face at the time, since using glue-components.

If not selecting an edge, the bottom of the group bounds will be used as an edge reference.

Note! To see the effect of edge colors, color by material must be on in styles.

In Dynamic Component Options there will be readable information about Angle and spacing, for each HatchComponent created.

Issues

If the face contains loose edges there might be a silent error. Havent a solution to trap for that yet.

Be careful with small values in spacing. Sketchup has problems intersecting with tiny details. And calculations can become very slow.

Heal Section Group Slice..

Direction?
- A-direction
- B-direction
- No-translation
- Face-reversed

How to use.

Create a sectionplane and rightclick the sectionplane perform a Create Group From Slice. The group won't be visible, but selected. Hit the plugin button and choose A or B direction

TIP! If you disable Display Section Cuts prior to the command you will see the direction the group is going when you run the plugin.

If no group appears, (IMPORTANT!)without deselecting anything hit ctrl-Z(undo) and try the other direction. If all is well a group with faces should have appeared just at the section plane.

NOTE! If the model contains nested groups or components they will become that as well in the slice. But nested groups don't always get face-healed. If so you can go inside the main group and run the command again. If no group with components with glue-behavior(hatch) or plain hatchcomponents are selected, there will be a warning. The function can be used to find faces in any group, not necessary Hatchcomponents.

Remember! Not to deselect the group after section-slice. The plugin is not using the section plane in any way. We are only taking advantage of Sketchup's selection order. If you wish more advanced features I recommend TIG's SectionCutFace. Also Zorry2 has some very nice features for this kind of work.

Clean up Hatches..

It will erase all loose geometry inside a group, except for groups and components.

It is convenient when hiding sections and having the Hatches inside walls for.ex. The Hatches then won't be visible from the outside

TIP!In conjunction with Group Slices this command is especially useful.

When running this plugin on Hatches individually they must have gluebehavior to a specific face. Also bear in mind it will destroy not only the face, but the face's edges as well.

That means that if a Hatch is created with only edges(Background=None). This command won't run and you will get an errormessage.
