Cookie cutters
-
Ah yes, the cookies should be the main thing, maybe with the cutters, some flour, honey whatever you need to make them on the side - scattered all around...
-
yeah, cookies would definitely be good...that, or dough and a rolling pin or something.. not sure i can pull off the cookies or dough though
-
This looks as real as it can get .
Nice work and I like the family concept in the cookie cutters...I am curious how this will end up...gonna add some kind of 'twist' to it ?
-
haha..no, not really... unless you've got something good in mind.. going to keep at it, mess with the composition..add a few more elements.. put our name in there someplace.. hopefully find an hdri to reflect...
maybe have the 'baby' standing or leaning up a bit since that will be the new addition to the family? some kind of focus on it? or maybe have it cutting out some pink dough?
anymore ideas?

How about a Christmas tree shaped cutter & some stars? And you know those little silver balls that get put on Christmas cookies? -- well they could look cool in a render. It's always cool to have lots of shiny stuff!
Regards, Ross

true, ross.. cutters in xmas shapes would get the christmasy effect across..
-
Hmmm! Looks like a cookie-cutter solution to me?
-
funny guy.... i like to keep things simple
-
These are really nice. They are very photorealistic. Good job. Waiting for more eye candy.

thank you solo
i actually did make one the other night, just have had a crazy deadline this week and of course, have multiple meetings this week... and havent had time to play b/c i'm stuck 'working' at night..haha.. (all night last night..yech)
-
Yours looks much better anyway...more detail.
-
well i didnt want to say anything....but.. haha.. kidding
-
this is true, coen...sorry..... i only use maxwell.....
-
quick 6 min. image to show the direction i'm heading..need to move that branch up a bit so the balls arent on the table..i hate when my balls are on the table..
-
Looking good. How about moving the cutters around just a little bit, so they aren't lined up. That cutting board looks too damn real!
-
Wow Jason,
Things are really coming together.
The scene really is growing up and the degree of realism is really high.
Maybe it is time to start thinking about the actual size of the card it will be printed on to finalise the arrangement of the objects.Have you thought of making it a foldable card?
I can imagine on the front page a rendered shopping list (placed on the same table (actually it can be just part of a very wide rendering that get's folded).
This shopping list can contain some funny ingredients to make those christmas cookies and is also suited to put your wishes on.Just an idea.
I love it already, even if the previous image would be the final one.
Great job and I think people will love to get one in their mailbox.Cheers,

the recipe idea is awesome, kwisten!.. but i think this is going to end up being a postcard to keep costs down (printing, envelopes, postage)... daniel, i jumbled them a 'little'..but still kept them in a line so you read them as a 'family'.. i'm adding a few more details and hopefully i'll have something somewhat final later on today. thanks for the help guys
-
getting closer (I think)... what do you think about the dough?
i need to make the dough in the bowl a little smoother.. and make the spoon a little larger..
-
Yeah, this little "misalignment" makes it a bit more realisctic. The dough - or at least the surface of it - seem OK. On the sides it's tue a bit angular. Can you throw a little flour on it? just scattered (that could go onto the table as well).
We put honey into these Christmas cakes too (and cinnamon and another kind of spice the name I forget of and orange peel etc...)
