The wet asphalt is a Thea Render material available at :http://www.thearender.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=5263&hilit=wet+asphalt

I use it a lot particularly in my night renders

There's something a little bit "Edward Hopper" about these images, some sort of suspense. I love them! πŸ‘

I really, really love Hopper and what I get from him is a perfect stilness.

I actually had some low polygon people in my Thea set ups but forgot to turn the layers on.
When I did,the images became something else,so even though the cars are there,I much prefer the sense of stillness but without human interaction,if that makes sense.

Great stuff, Hopper is one of my favourites. Yes I agree, a perfect stillness but with undertones of something imminent.

I think the people would have made it more arch-viz instead of impressionistic. I really love what you've done. πŸ‘ Keep it up David! πŸ˜„

Thanks for posting these. Really like the old cars and truck! And ditto on the mood and rendering comments. All great!

Most of my images are about empty spaces , i.e. no people - a moment caught out of time
Here's 2 more NPR images, concentrating again on light.
