3D Third Reich's uniforms

I totally agree but can you explain how to purge those unusual textures? I know that Sketchup does it automaticly when i post the model on the web but i would like to do it myself. Btw, those unusual textures come from other models, copy, cut, paste, remove... + upgrading textures.
Thanks for the components feature, i didn't know it before. All advice are good to improve models

There are several ways to purge your model. One is to click on "Window", then "Statistics", and then do a purge
A better way is install a great little plugin from TIG, which can be found here

I use this all the time, and it does much more than the first method I mentioned.Without too much trouble I got your model down to less than 1/8 of it's original size. This could be decreased even further if you reduced the file size of several of your textures. Two of them weigh in at about 750KB each, pretty big.
I'm always battling to keep my model size to a minimum, originally to keep them under the 10mb limit for posting on the Warehouse, but now just to keep them as small as possible so that it doesn't bog down SU. If you need any more tips just search the forums here, they are chock full of good information, and a lot of very knowledgeable people (much more knowledgeable than me) more than willing to help out any way they can.

Glad I could help out in some small way. As I said, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your work. Making realistic clothing in SU is difficult, and you seem to have mastered it. I tried making clothing once. Only once

Oberschütze der Heer:
(Third Reich's army, infantery (white piping))

I'm not sure if it was the Third Reich's or SS uniforms that were actually designed by Hugo Boss, bit weird when you think about it!

Very nicely done, Harold. Interested in seeing what you do with these (assume it is for a scene your modeling).
Luftwaffe uniforms were blue-gray; yours appear dark charcoal. The Third Reich had some neat uniforms, but their designs, and Germany's "uniformania" was not a purely Third Reich manifistation, but developed under the Second German Empire and Prussian militarism.

Yes, the colour of the Luftwaffe's uniform had to be changed. In the following next model, i think we can agree that the colour is ok now.
Oberleutnant der Luftwaffe:
(Third Reich's air force, pilot and parachutist (yellow piping))
No plan to make a complete scene, but you can do it if you want Just plan to makes all the uniforms, but i know yet it's impossible, because there are so many...
Thanks for your kind comment.

Nice work Harold, would you not consider UV mapping a customised material to the uniform instead of using multiple materials?
