Hello all!
This it was my first model in sketchup that I did seriously. Then I put it in 3d Studio Max and VRay to render.

Wow, that's great.
It reminds me of those biscuit tins you used to get that were pressed into different shapes and textured. -
Very nice.
-
How were the models textured?
Any chance of showing a higher res picture? It's difficult to properly appreciate the models when the pics are so small.
-
Both the images are great, but I really like the "biscuit tin" one. Would love to see it inside a model of a room.
How long did each pic take you from start to finish? I'd expect the texturing was the most time consuming aspect, or was that quick because you had good textures to work with?

Nice! Reminds me of those foldup paper models.
I like that tavern texture. Can you tell me where you found it? -

I dont remember exactly but i think it was a Warhammer paper model.

I'm simply speechless. The modelling itself is great but what this texturing (and the render) gives to them, is simply awesome. -
the first two are definiltey my faves....these are really awesome.. are you creating these textures? the first looks like its textured with a photo? have always wanted to try that method, correct the perspective off of a photo and use it to create a model/rendering.
please keep them coming...

I really like the Cottage's Textures.
-
The texture and render work is a solid 10.
-
For a 1 to 10 score i'd give it a 15

Looking awesome man

Excellent work!

Impressive! A great inspiration.

Thanks!
The truth is that these models are pretty old. (I Create them with SketchUp 5).
I believe that I construct now them betterβ¦So lets start with the new models (2008-2009)!!
Edges 415952
Faces 151532
Groups 719
Components 4Bye

Great arc, fine details!
(I'd lose that stone texture though as it really looks unnatural for an arc)
-
thank you so much Roberto for such beautiful models and all the great information!! please keep posting more!!
Question- how come the more complicated model (palace posted on June 10th) has a lot less faces and edges and components than, let say, a lot of the other models and this arc you just posted? maybe i'm not seeing the complexity in the others... -

More groups created makes a less complex model
The arc has a lot of diferent groups (each detail is a group) so the details can be inproved in a very easy manner changing the level of detail of the group.Sorry, i'm not an expert in english!
